It looks like Maruti is planning to introduce the facelifted XL6 and Ertiga soon as vehicles have started reaching dealerships. This is the first update for both the people movers and it will largely be limited to cosmetics. Both models are part of Maruti’s massive eight car launch plan for 2022.

Both models will get a revised grille insert design that gives them a breath of fresh air. The front bumper seems to be carried over from before, and in our opinion, Maruti could have updated it. Another change made to the XL6 is the addition of new dual-tone alloy wheels. Apart from that, both models remain similar to the outgoing models.

Considering the miniscule exterior changes, the interior design and layout is expected to remain unchanged. However, Maruti could spruce things up by tinkering with the colour schemes and upholstery. Both models will continue with a 105PS 1.5-litre petrol engine paired with a mild-hybrid system. While the 5-speed manual transmission will be retained, there are reports suggesting that the ancient 4-speed torque converter will be replaced with a more sophisticated 6-speed unit.

The facelifted Maruti Suzuki Ertiga and XL6 is expected to command a slight premium over the outgoing model that is priced from Rs 8.12 lakh and Rs 10.14 lakh respectively. They will renew their rivalry with other three-row offerings like the Renault Triber, Mahindra Marazzo, and the Kia Carens.
