Maruti Suzuki Victoris Vs Grand Vitara: Which Maruti SUV Deserves highlights

Maruti Suzuki recently revealed the Victoris SUV, which is supposed to be positioned between the Brezza and the Grand Vitara. However, its specifications are very much comparable to the Grand Vitara, and in fact, it even gets some extras over the latter. The Victoris will be sold through Maruti’s Arena dealerships, while the Grand Vitara retails through the more premium Nexa dealerships.

In this article, we compare all their specifications, including their dimensions, features, powertrains, and prices.

Let the battle between the two Marutis begin!

As you can see in the table above, the Victoris is clearly the better-equipped SUV in terms of convenience and safety features. The new Maruti SUV offers larger and more modern-looking displays, an enhanced safety package featuring level-2 ADAS, a powered tailgate with gesture controls, and a superior sound system as well.

Both SUVs also get ambient lighting; however, the one in the Victoris is multi-colour (64 colours), and the one on the Grand Vitara has only one colour.

The Grand Vitara packs all the essentials and certain feel-good features, but is due for an update, and will likely get the missing features as well.

As seen in the table above, both Victoris and Grand Vitrara share the same engine options, with the strong-hybrid powertrain being the most powerful one of the lot. The NA petrol with the AT gearbox can also be had with an AWD configuration.

While the hybrid powertrain is the most efficient one here, it also comes at a premium over the NA petrol engine. Maruti also offers a CNG kit with both the SUVs. The Victoris gets an underbody CNG kit for more boot space.

ZigSays…

On paper, it is the Victoris that has the upper hand, mainly due to its extra features that add a sense of premiumness inside the cabin. However, it all comes down to how Maruti prices the Victoris. If the Victoris can manage to undercut the Grand Vitara by a fair margin, then it would prove to be the more value-for-money option.

That being said, the Victoris’ modern and youthful design might not appeal to everyone, and some people might prefer the conventional design of the Grand Vitara more.

One key factor that gives the Victoris extra points is that it has been crash tested by Bharat NCAP and secured an impressive 5-star rating. The Grand Vitara is yet to be tested.

Stay tuned as we will be covering more on the Victoris once we get our hands on the SUV! Till then, let us know which SUV you would pick, in the comments below…
