This week, the auto industry saw plenty of action with a car launch, various global reveals with both potentially coming to India in the future. We also have a car launch timeline for a car launch and a new manual gearbox that will soon make its debut.  Here’s  five of the most important happenings that caught our attention:

2020 Honda WR-V Facelift India Launch

Honda has finally given the WR-V a mid-life refresh in India with prices ranging from Rs 8.50 lakh to Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). It is offered in two variants -- SV and VX -- and is powered by BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. The new WR-V gets a variety of revisions on the outside as well as additional equipment on the inside. To know more about what’s new, head here.

2021 Bentley Bentayga Global Debut

 

This week saw Bentley unveil the facelifted Bentayga in the international market. It gets a host of upgrades starting with more aggressive exteriors, a revised cabin, more rear legroom and additional tech on offer. It retains its 550PS/770Nm 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine under the hood,with a mighty 6.0-litre W12 option set to join the lineup. 2021 Audi Q5 International Reveal

 

Another India-bound global unveil this week was the first mid-life update of the second-gen Audi Q5 SUV. In terms of what’s new, the Q5 gets a sportier exterior, connected car tech as well as a cleaner 204PS/400Nm 2.0-litre TDI diesel engine thanks to a 12V mild-hybrid system that enables the engine to shut off while coasting at speeds below 22kmph. It will also get a 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine, a 3.0-litre TDI V6 diesel engine and a plug-in hybrid variant in the future. Hyundai Venue Turbo Receives New iMT Manual Gearbox

 

Imagine shifting gears in a manual Hyundai Venue, but without a clutch pedal. That’s right. Hyundai has announced that it will soon offer the Venue with a clutchless manual transmission dubbed the iMT (Intelligent Manual Transmission). This gearbox will be paired to the Venue’s 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine option. This gearbox essentially eliminates the need for a clutch pedal and relies on a host of sensors to actuate the clutch plate to shift cogs. Hyundai 2020 Tucson Facelift Launch Date

 

The coronavirus pandemic had put a hold on Hyundai’s plans to launch the facelifted Tucson in India. But now our sources suggest that the updated SUV will launch in India on July 14 2020. The new Tucson will receive cosmetic updates on the outside, a variety of new features as well as retain its 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engine options, albeit with BS6 updates.
