  • Honda is working on giving the WR-V a facelift.
  • Fascia gets an angular grille and new split-LED headlights.
  • Could get new features to make the cross-hatch more appealing.
  • No changes expected underneath the hood.

Things have been hush on Honda’s cross-hatch, the WR-V, ever since it got a BS6 and mild cosmetic update. However, it looks like the Japanese carmaker is set to give the WR-V yet another makeover as the facelifted model has been spotted for the first time.

The updated WR-V features a heavily revised fascia with the single-frame grille featuring sharper creases and cuts, flanked by what seems like a split-LED headlight setup. Lower down, the bumpers now have minimalist styling with L-shaped fog lamp housing. There seems to be no major changes on the side profile and rear end.

It’s likely there won’t be major changes to existing dashboard layout and design. That said, it could get new feature additions that will make the cross-hatch more appealing.

Currently, the WR-V gets bases covered with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a single-pane sunroof, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, and a multi-info display. Safety kit includes dual airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.

No changes are expected underneath the hood. The WR-V gets a 100PS 1.5-litre diesel and 90PS 1.2-litre petrol engine, paired to a 6-speed and 5-speed manual transmission respectively.

The Honda WR-V is currently priced from Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom) and the facelift could command a few extra bucks. It will lock horns with sub-4-metre SUVs like the Kia Sonet, Tata NexonMaruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, and the like.
