The Tesla Model S Plaid+, claimed to be one of the quickest production cars ever, was seen testing with active aerodynamics at the Laguna Seca circuit in California.
The video shows the EV’s active rear wing (a feature that isn’t offered in the standard Model S) raises almost vertically while decelerating, effectively doubling up as an air brake. This could be a much-needed feature, considering the Model S Plaid + can generate some serious speed. While accelerating, the wing is flush with the body, aiding in better aerodynamics.
One can also spot a roll cage in this test mule. But it’s likely only there for the added safety during high-speed testing and might not make it to the production model.

The video source claims the Model S Plaid+ set a lap record of 1 minute and 29.9 seconds around the 3.60km circuit. This can be attributed to its three electric motors expected to deliver over an astounding 1100PS! Tesla claims it can go from 0-100kmph in less than 2 seconds.
Battery specifications are yet to be revealed, but the electric sedan can cover over 830km, which is insane considering its power output.

The Model S Plaid+ is expected to go on sale in the coming months. Also, Tesla will likely begin its India operations with the Model 3 later this year. Read about the latest developments here.
