Tata Tiago Waiting Period Extends To 3 Months

Since the Tata Tiago was launched in April this year, it has received more than 22,000 bookings in the country. A lot of bookings are still pending and the count for those are more than 23,000. However, Tata is still receiving more bookings for the Tiago and has extended their waiting period to three months. Unsurprisingly, more than 80 per cent of the overall bookings are for the petrol variant of this hatchback.

The Tata Tiago has many rivals in the market, like the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, the Hyundai Grand i10, and the Chevrolet Beat, and all of these cars are priced much higher than the Tiago. The Tiago starts at Rs 3.2 lakh and goes all the way up to Rs 5.54 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Tata is also offering a lot of new features along with a completely new design with this car. With all the new features and design Tata might hike the price of the Tiago, but, according to reports, it will remain fairly less than its rivals in the market.

Tata Motors have gained the third position in the sales charts of the first quarter of FY2017 after the Tiago's remarkable success, also posting a 100 per cent growth in the hatchback segment in the month of June. Last month's sale was around 4,205 units and after the Tiago's launch Tata has exceeded their monthly sales of 4,000 units in the past couple of years. This car has made its way to the 15 top selling cars in the last month, indicating that there is still a very long way to go for this hatchback.
