Mercedes-Benz has no plans of stopping when it comes to the company’s product portfolio. The performance division of the three-point star brand has released a teaser video of what could be the roadster version of the AMG GT S sports car. Mercedes-AMG will reveal the new supercar at the upcoming Paris Motor Show.
Rumoured to be christened as the Mercedes-AMG GT C Roadster, the supercar is likely to draw it power from the same four-litre V8 twin-turbo petrol engine used in the AMG GT S coupe. The engine in the coupe is tuned to produce 510PS of power and 650Nm of peak torque. Read our review on the Mercedes-AMG GT S here (link).
The roadster is likely to sport a folding soft-top instead of a retractable hardtop in order to keep the weight low. The manufacturer has not yet shared any details of the roadster. The teaser video provides a silhouette of the supercar showcasing its long bonnet followed by its open cabin and ending with the GT S styled rear end.
In India, Mercedes-AMG retails the GT S coupe at Rs 2.4 crore (ex-showroom Delhi). The roadster version is likely to be introduced at a higher premium as compared to the coupe when it hits the showrooms. In its segment, currently, the only supercar to compete the Mercedes-AMG GT C will be the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet which currently available for Rs 2.82 crore (ex-showroom New Delhi).
