Lucky man wins a Mahindra XUV500

Preceding the launch of their XUV500, Mahindra & Mahindra had launched their 'Guess the Price' contest. As the name suggests the contest invited people to guess the price of the car, the grand prize being the car itself. The winner has just been announced

Mahindra decided to blow the roof over the publicity for their new XUV500 before its launch. Using the power of interactive social media Mahindra & Mahindra managed to create quite a hype over the launch of their soft-roader, the XUV500. What the Mahindra Group did was launch an online contest for their then upcoming model the XUV 500. The contest was called ‘Guess the Price’ contest and everyone was invited to submit entries for what they thought would be the price of the Mahindra XUV500.

The contest sent a staggering 6.5 lakh visitors to the Mahindra & Mahindra website over the length of the contest. Everyone was going crazy over the contest and judging by the way the XUV500 looked and the fact that it was a Mahindra everyone in our office was ferociously sending in their entries in the hope of winning the keys to one. While people expected Mahindra & Mahindra to not shoot themselves in the other foot and price the XUV500 higher than their bestselling Scorpio, Mahindra had a trick up their sleeve by launching the car at an introductory price.

Nevertheless, one lucky man, to be a precise a lucky man called Amit Mate, who is a technology consultant from Kolhapur, has won the contest. Mr. Mate has just been handed the keys to his spanking new XUV500, and here is what he had to say, “This is a dream come true for me, as I have been an avid Mahindra enthusiast since childhood & I always wanted to own one. Winning the XUV500 is thus simply phenomenal. I will cherish this vehicle and I wish to thank Mahindra for developing such a truly world class global SUV.”
