The Honda CD 110 Dream BS6 has been launched in India at a starting price of Rs 62,729 (ex-showroom Ahmedabad). That's a premium of Rs 13,695 over the outgoing BS4 model. While that’s a steep price hike, the extra dough does get you some segment-first features. The bike is available in two variants: Standard and Deluxe with the only differentiating factor being its colour schemes. Honda says the bikes will start reaching dealerships in the next couple of days.
To begin with, the BS6 Honda CD 110 Dream gets an engine kill switch and a pass beam switch -- features usually seen in higher capacity motorcycles. It even gets a silent starter motor (segment-first) which allows for quick noiseless engine startups. Other than that, the bike comes with a halogen headlamp, low-rolling resistance rear tyre for better mileage, and a 15mm longer seat.
The CD 110 Dream is powered by an all-new 110cc fuel-injected BS6-compliant engine that puts out 8.79PS at 7500rpm, 0.37PS more than the outgoing model. Torque, however, has taken a minor dip from 9.9Nm to 9.30Nm at 5500rpm. The engine has also been updated with Honda's friction reduction technology which improves its fuel-efficiency compared to the BS4 model. It retains the same 4-speed transmission.
In terms of hardware, the BS6 CD 110 Dream features a telescopic fork, twin rear shock absorbers, and drum brake on both ends with CBS (Combined Braking System) as standard. At this price point, the Honda CD 110 Dream BS6 competes against the Hero HF Deluxe BS6, TVS Sport BS6 and Bajaj CT110.
Now that the BS6 CD 110 Dream is here, we can expect Honda to bring in the BS6-compliant iterations of the Dream Yuga and the Dream Neo as well.
