GST Effect: Vespa And Aprilia Rejig Prices

Vespa and Aprilia have passed on the GST benefits to their customers by reducing the ex-showroom prices of their scooters on offer in India. As per the newly implemented GST (Goods and Services Tax) policy, two wheelers above 350cc now attract 31 per cent tax which is 3 per cent more than the 28 per cent GST levied on two wheelers below 350cc. Before the implementation of GST, both the segments attracted a 30 per cent tax rate. The VXL 150 Limited has seen the highest hike in its price with a total rise of Rs 272 while the LX 125 has seen the least hike in its price of Rs 219. Vespa currently offers the LX, VXL, SXL125 and the VXL125 Elegante variants with the 125cc engine while there are three variants offered with the 150cc engine: the VXL150, SXI150, SXL 150 Red and the SXLR150. The Aprilia SR150 scooter is offered in two variants – Standard SR150 and the SR150 Race. Prices for Aprilia have gone down by Rs 108 and Rs 106 for the Standard SR 150 and SR 150 Race respectively.
