Is your electric vehicle running out of charge? Well, now you could just say “OK, Google. Show me the nearest EV charging stations” to find a charging point in your vicinity based on your location. Considering that the electric mobility segment is one of the hot topics right now, the latest feature from Google Maps is quite useful for those who own an EV or plan to buy one soon.

Just like any other location you might search on Google Maps, this feature shows you the directions, images of the charging station, whether it’s open or not and even find reviews by other users! However, there are a few points are currently missing. First, it doesn’t mention whether the charging station is operational or not. Moreover, it doesn’t filter out the specific charging plugs that your vehicle needs. This means you either have to visit the charging station or give them a call to find out the different plug types that are available. However, Google has rolled out this specific feature in the US, so expect the Silicon Valley giant to release this update for its Indian users in the near future.
