The XEV 9e tops the list with 32 out of 32 for adult protection and an equally strong 45 out of 49 for child safety. That adds up to a total of 77 points out of 81, making it the highest-scoring SUV ever tested by Bharat NCAP. On the safety front, the XEV 9e comes equipped with 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, a 360-degree camera system, a blind-view monitor, and Level 2 ADAS features like lane-keep assist, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control.

Mahindra BE 6

Next up is the second model from the Mahindra Born Electric range, the BE 6, which has scored a total of 76.97 out of 81 points in the safety tests. For adult safety scores, the BE 6 has achieved 31.97 out of 32, and for child safety scores, it has scored 45 out of 49. Safety features include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, a 360-degree camera system, hill-hold assist, ISOFIX child seat mounts,  adaptive cruise control, and Level 2 ADAS.

Tata Punch EV

The Tata Punch EV is the next SUV to wear the 5-star badge, scoring 76.46 points out of 81 in total. It secured an impressive 31.46/32 for adult protection and 45/49 for child safety, placing it alongside larger, more expensive SUVs. In terms of safety, six airbags are standard, while other features include hill-start assist, a 360-degree camera, ABS with EBD, all-wheel disc brakes, and hill-hold control.

Mahindra Thar Roxx

The Mahindra Thar Roxx became the first body-on-frame SUV to secure a full 5-star Bharat NCAP rating. Despite its tough, adventure-ready build, the Roxx did not compromise on safety, scoring 31.09/32 for adult protection and 45/49 for child safety. Alongside its capable chassis, Mahindra has equipped it with six airbags as standard, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and even level-2 ADAS.

Skoda Kylaq

Last but not least is the Skoda Kylaq, which has managed to score a full 5-star rating as well. While its adult protection score stood at 30.88/32, lower than some others on this list, it still matched them in child protection with an impressive 45/49. That makes the Kylaq the safest sub-compact SUV you can buy right now. Standard safety kit includes six airbags, electronic stability control, and a rear parking camera with parking sensors.

BONUS: Maruti Victoris

The Maruti Victoris has secured a full 5-star rating in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP tests. It scored 33.72/34 for adult safety and 41/49 for child protection under Global NCAP, while in Bharat NCAP, it managed 31.66/32 and 43/49, respectively.
