Ace Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap took to his Instagram account to announce his new car purchase. And the latest addition to his garage is nothing but the Mahindra XEV 9e! Mahindra has commenced deliveries for the XEV 9e alongside BE 6 and the Gangs Of Wasseypur director took home the former in its Stealth Black hue. We’re sure you’re well-versed with the XEV 9e by now, but if you aren’t here’s a detailed overview of the car.
The Mahindra XEV 9e is available in four variants: Pack One, Pack Two, Pack Three Select and Pack Three. Besides the black hue chosen by Kashyap, you can also opt for the electric SUV coupe in seven other colour options: Deep Forest, Nebula Blue, Everest White, Desert Myst, Tango Red, Red Velvet and Gold Dawn.
The XEV 9e is a mid size electric SUV coupe with a sloping roofline, a futuristic fascia with connected LED lighting and a blanked off grille. It boasts a commanding profile with thick body cladding complemented by 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels and stylish flush-type door handles.
Step inside, and the XEV 9e greets you with its sophisticated and premium interior. It gets Ivory White-themed upholstery, but the highlight ought to be the 12.3-inch triple displays. Overhead you have a large fixed glassroof spanning across the length and it gets illumination too.
Its top features include three 12.3-inch displays for infotainment, driver’s display and passenger entertainment, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats with powered driver seat, 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, park assist, cruise control, dual wireless phone charger and connected car tech.
The XEV 9e also boasts a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test, also being the first-ever car to score full marks in Adult occupant protection. Its safety suite includes 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS) and level-2 ADAS.
The XEV 9e is powered by two battery options and the bigger one is exclusively offered with the higher spec Pack 3 Select and Pack 3. Here’s a look at the specifications:

Prices for the Mahindra XEV 9e range between Rs 21.9 lakh to Rs 30.5 lakh (ex-showroom). It is set to get competition from the upcoming Tata Harrier EV. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 can be considered as a premium alternative to the Mahindra XEV 9e as well.
Its interesting to find that the filmmaker who has got us close to the meanest of gangsters and goons through his filmography has chosen the rather stylish and sophisticated XEV 9e for his drive option. A choice much alien to the worlds set in his films!
So, is the Mahindra XEV 9e also on your wishlist? Let us know in the comments.
