Mahindra’s born-electric twins, the XEV 9e and BE 6, are already head-turners in India’s evolving EV scene. And now they’re giving mid-variant buyers a compelling new reason to smile (and drive longer). Until now, the larger 79 kWh battery pack was a Pack Three exclusive, but Mahindra is now offering it with the mid-spec Pack Two trims of both EVs.
That means you no longer need to spring for the top-spec variant to get that bigger battery life, and that’s a big win for value-conscious EV buyers.

Both the BE 6 and XEV 9e feature two battery pack options, which have a modern and advanced LFP Blade Cell technology. Here are the detailed specifications:

The two battery packs and claimed range are the highest in the respective EV segments to date. Furthermore, they provide the most powerful electric motors when compared to their competition.
This new addition means you’ll save Rs 3.4 lakh on the BE 6 and a massive Rs 4 lakh on the XEV 9e compared to the top-end Pack Three that originally offered this battery.

Mahindra has also confirmed that deliveries for these Pack Two variants (both battery options) will kick off by the end of July.

Aside from the boost in battery size and (presumably) range, there are no major changes to the Pack Two variant’s feature list. And that’s not a bad thing, because they were already stacked to begin with.
The Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e Pack Two variants remain just as stylish and loaded as ever. On the outside, both EVs come equipped with sleek LED headlamps and tail lamps, sporty 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts, and sequential turn indicators that add a touch of flair to your lane changes. And yes, there’s also an illuminated Mahindra logo, because, well, why not?

Step inside, and you’re greeted with a well-appointed cabin that balances tech and comfort. There’s leatherette seat upholstery, dual-zone auto AC with rear vents to keep everyone comfy, and a powered driver’s seat with lumbar support to make long drives easier on your back. The cooled centre console is perfect for stashing your cold brew, while wireless phone chargers at the front and rear ensure everyone stays charged on the go. You also get a panoramic fixed glass roof to soak in the sky, an auto-dimming IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, and push-button start/stop for that modern convenience.
Mahindra hasn’t skimped on safety, either. Even the Pack Two trims are armed to the teeth with six airbags, disc brakes on all four wheels, front and rear parking sensors, and a 360-degree HD camera. Add to that an electronic parking brake with auto hold and a comprehensive Level-2 ADAS suite that includes goodies like driver drowsiness detection and lane keep assist, and you’ve got an EV that’s got your back, literally and figuratively.

In terms of competition, the Mahindra BE 6 squares off against a trio of formidable electric SUVs: the Hyundai Creta Electric, the Tata Curvv EV, and the MG ZS EV. The XEV 9e, on the other hand, is up against the likes of the BYD Atto 3 and the newly launched Tata Harrier EV. With the addition of the 79 kWh battery to the Pack Two trims, both Mahindra EVs are now looking sharper than ever in this buzzing segment.
This move makes a lot of sense. The mid-spec Pack Two trims already struck a nice balance between price and features. Now, with the option of the 79 kWh battery, they become even more attractive, especially for those who want a longer range without the top-end premium. It’s Mahindra’s way of saying, “Why should top variants have all the fun?”
