The week gone by was mostly dominated by the Tata Harrier and saw two premium car launches, both worth over a crore. A premium sedan went missing on the website and Skoda is considering an unusual launch for India

The week kicked off with a bang when all details of the upcoming Tata flagship, the Harrier were revealed, shortly before we were scheduled to drive the SUV. Shortly after, possibly the most expensive SUV in the world, the Rolls Royce Cullinan was launched in India at Rs 6.95 crore along with the 50th annivarsary edition of the Jaguar XJ. Volkswagen announced that it will be moving its entire portfolio to the MQB A0 platform and Kia revealed the price range and launch timeline for the SP concept based SUV. Exciting times lie ahead, along with a few price hikes.

Mahindra is working on the Tivoli-based SUV which will be its fourth sub-4 metre SUV for the Indian market, that's if you exclude the KUV100. The S201 is undergoing rigorous testing and this time, clear spy shots of the interiors of the SUV have emerged. And as expected, the S201 will come loaded with features including some segent firsts like a dual-zone climate control!

Kia SP SUV Pricing Revealed, Launch Likely By September 2019

Kia, which is currently in the process of setting up its manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh, has revealed more details of its first-ever product for India - a compact SUV based on the SP Concept that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. Codenamed SP2i, the compact SUV could be called the Trazor or Tusker. It is expected to be launched before Diwali 2019 and Kia has now confirmed that it will be priced between Rs 10.0-Rs 16.0 lakh.

2018 Skoda Scala: First Look

It is an amalgamation of hatch like proportions, a coupe-esque stance and the practicality of an estate. Tata Nexon Becomes Safest Made In India Car, Scores 5 Stars in GNCAP Crash Test

Tata Nexon has become the first made-in-India car to be awarded 5 stars for safety by the Global NCAP. It has scored five stars for adult safety and three for child occupants. And apart from the front offset impact, the Nexon also passed the side impact test. Before the Nexon, the Mahindra Marazzo scored four stars for adults and two for child safety. The Nexon had earlier received a four star safety rating but with updated tech, the rating has also gone up.


All VW, Skoda Cars To Move To MQB; To Look Different From Each Other

After Skoda announced that it will be localising the MQB A0 platform, we now have confirmation that all mass market cars from VW and Skoda will move to MQB A0 platform and will be BSVI-compliant. Both Volkswagen and Skoda will continue offering their cars in the same segments but there will be no more rebadged cars. Furthermore, even the Polo, Vento, Ameo and the Rapid, will be underpinned by the MQB A0 platform in the future.

 

Toyota Camry Discontinued. Next-gen Model To Debut Early Next Year

Toyota has pulled the plug on the Camry sedan in India as the model has been pulled from the brand’s website. So it’s safe to assume it’s not on sale anymore. The dealers we spoke also seemed to agree that the new one will be arriving on our shores early next year. Watch this space
