  • Interiors feature a new cabin layout different from the ix25.
  • It gets a landscape-styled touchscreen infotainment system, repositioned air vents, and a conventional centre console.
  • Other interior bits include a Sonata-like steering wheel, electric parking brake, and a new manual gear selector design.
  • The 2020 Creta will be launched by March this year.

Hyundai finally took the wraps off the 2020 Creta at Auto Expo 2020. While we already knew what the SUV looks like from the outside, the interiors were put under wraps, until now. During the unveiling, we managed to get a glimpse of what’s inside. It sports several bits that are different from its Chinese counterpart, the ix25. Here’s a closer look:

The images reveal an all-new cabin layout for the 2020 Creta. It features a large landscape-styled touchscreen infotainment system (possibly 8 inches) at the centre, which is different from the Tesla-like layout in the ix25. Its air vents have also been positioned above the touchscreen system instead of either side.

It gets a conventional centre console with climate control knobs unlike the one in the ix25. Meanwhile, the door inserts and dual-tone upholstery are similar. It sports a different steering wheel design, that's similar to the international-spec Sonata sedan. An electronic parking brake and a new manual gear selector design round off the interiors. We know the Creta will come with Blue Link connected car tech, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, climate control, cruise control, and a panoramic sunroof. Safety features are likely to consist of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control, and a rear view camera.

The 2020 Creta has been heavily redesigned on the exterior, with new front and rear end, headlamps, tail lamps, rounded-off wheel arches, and 17-inch alloy wheels. It will be powered by the same BS6-compliant 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel, and 1.4-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Kia Seltos. It will be launched in March, with prices likely to range from Rs 11 lakh to Rs 16 lakh (ex-showroom). The Creta will take on the likes of the Kia Seltos, MG Hector, Tata Harrier, and Mahindra XUV500.
