Grand Prix Of Bharat Is A Go From 2023

Dorna has confirmed a 7-years contract with Fairstreet Sports for hosting this event

Hurray! The pinnacle of motorcycle racing is heading to our shores in a year’s time. Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta has announced that the Buddh International Circuit will be hosting the MotoGP Grand Prix of Bharat from 2023 onwards.

There have been countless talks and rumours over the years surrounding the arrival of the sport to India and we are finally glad that the wheels have been put into motion. We just wish it had taken place sooner as we would’ve gotten the likes of Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo racing on Indian soil. Nevertheless, the current crop of emerging stars are going to be quite exciting to watch.

With the FIM MiniGP series aiming to give birth to future Indian MotoGP riders, the arrival of the premiere racing series, as well as its supporting Moto2 and Moto3 classes, Indian motorsports is bound to receive a big boost.

Given the layout of the BIC, it is no secret which team is going to be the favourites. The Bologna Bullets have been very impressive in the past few years, notching up the constructors championships three years in a row. The only remaining piece in Ducati’s puzzle remains the rider’s title that has eluded the Italian marque since 2008.
