The Mercedes-AMG G 63 is no stranger to stardom in India. It’s found homes in the garages of Bollywood A-listers, cricketing royalty, and business magnates alike. And now, the G-Wagon’s cult following has earned it something no AMG SUV has had before: an India-specific edition. Enter the AMG G 63 Collector’s Edition, launched today by Mercedes-Benz India, tailored by its Indian design and R&D teams for those who like their V8s loud and their exclusivity louder.
This special edition isn’t just a limited run with a fancy name. It’s a proper nod to the G 63’s wild popularity here and adds a distinctly Indian flavour to the burly off-roader.
It still retains the iconic upright, squared-off G-Wagon silhouette with the triple-louvre. The Collector’s Edition looks like it walked straight off a fashion week runway in Stuttgart. It’s offered in two exclusive Manufaktur shades, Mid Green Magno and Red Magno, both matte-finish colours that scream exclusivity without actually raising their voice.

But that’s not all. It gets bespoke multi-spoke golden alloy wheels, a colour choice that contrasts brilliantly with the muted matte tones. Running down its profile is a special ‘Collector’s Edition’ insignia on the body beading, subtle, but visible enough to let your neighbours know this isn’t your regular celebrity-spec G.

Oh, and the spare wheel cover now features a black plate with a Collector’s Edition badge, just in case someone tries to sneak a peek from behind. It also tells you which one of the 30 limited edition cars this is!
Inside, it’s still the luxurious, tech-rich cocoon we know from the standard G 63, but with a few exclusive touches. The Collector’s Edition comes with a classy new beige-and-black colour scheme, adding a rich, almost yacht-like vibe to the already plush space.

There’s a special wooden trim on the passenger grab handle, where you can get your name engraved! There are exclusive upholstery patterns, and a commemorative plaque that lets your passengers know this isn’t your run-of-the-mill AMG, but a 1 of 30 limited Collector’s Edition G 63.

Mercedes-Benz India’s R&D division has clearly had a hand in tailoring the cabin for this edition, although the underlying layout, twin 12.3-inch screens, turbine-style vents, and aircraft-grade switchgear remain unchanged, as they should.
Like any G 63 worth its salt, this special edition gets all the goodies. The MBUX infotainment system with dual screens, Burmester 3D surround sound system, 64-colour ambient lighting, and all the creature comforts you’d expect from an SUV that costs north of Rs 4 crore.

There’s a sunroof, wireless charging, ventilated and massaging front seats, and a 360-degree camera. And yes, it will still make your neighbour’s bungalow vibrate every time you start it.
No changes under the bonnet, and honestly, we are not complaining. The AMG G 63 Collector’s Edition sticks with the legendary 4-litre twin-turbo V8, making 585 PS and 850 Nm. Add to that the mild-hybrid system with an extra 22 PS boost, and you have got performance that feels almost absurd in a 2.5-tonne SUV.

The engine is paired with a 9-speed AMG Speedshift transmission and Mercedes’ 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system with locking diffs and low-range gearing. 0-100 kmph in 4.4 seconds? That’s quicker than most sports cars, all while you sit high above traffic in quilted leather.
Mercedes-Benz says that there will be only 30 units available for the Collector’s Edition, and it could only be purchased by existing customers from their “top-end” portfolio. So, you can not actually buy it off the shelf!

As for the price? The standard AMG G 63 is already priced at Rs 3.75 crore, and this one demands a healthy premium, priced at Rs 4.3 crore plus customisations depending on how deep the customisation goes. The deliveries for the India-specific G-Wagen starts from Q4 of 2025.
Rivals? Well, if you’re shopping in this segment, you're already spoiled. The Range Rover, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, and even the Lexus LX 600 could be in your crosshairs. But none offer the same mix of nostalgia, brute force, and pop culture street cred as the G 63.
The AMG G 63 Collector’s Edition is more than just a few stickers and a new colour. It’s a rare nod from Mercedes-Benz to one of its most passionate markets, crafted with intent rather than as an afterthought. This India-specific G-Wagon is built for a very specific kind of buyer, one who wants exclusivity, performance, and a bit of cultural flair rolled into one very orange package.

If you have got the money and the mindset, this might just be the coolest G 63 money can buy. What do you think about the Collector’s Edition? Let us know in the comments below!
