A week after we spotted a Keeway 125cc retro bike at a dealership, the Hungarian marque has officially launched the Keeway SR125 in India. This makes it the seventh bike to join Keeway’s Indian lineup.
What’s The Price? Who Are Its Rivals?

The Keeway SR125 is available in three colours: Glossy White, Glossy Black and Glossy Red, all of which are priced at Rs 1,19,000 (ex-showroom India). This makes it Rs 14,900 more affordable than the Yamaha FZ-X. However in terms of performance the SR125 goes up against the likes of premium air-cooled 125cc bikes like the Bajaj Pulsar NS125, TVS Raider 125 and Honda SP125.
What’s New?
-
Powering the Keeway SR125 is a 125cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 9.8PS and 8.2Nm, which is not at all impressive, considering both the Honda Shine 125 and TVS Raider make more than 11PS and 11Nm.

- It also gets a halogen headlight with LED DRLs, combined with a retro classic design.
- The SR125 weighs just 120kg, and is equipped with a telescopic fork and five-step preload adjustable dual shock absorbers. It rolls on 17-inch wire-spoke rims wrapped in Yuanxing block-pattern tyres.

- Braking duties are carried out by a 300mm front disc and 210mm rear disc brakes, with the safety net of combi-braking system.
- It features a circular digital instrument console, hazard switch, side-stand engine cut-off and comes with a 14.5-litre fuel tank.
What Should Have Changed?

While the design is retro, the front end of the bike looks rather bland. Considering the Keeway SR125 is meant to be a gateway into a premium brand, the company could’ve visually tweaked the front end of the bike to live up to the classic persona.
ZigSays
The Keeway SR125 is positioned as an entry point into the brand that features a range of premium products. Considering that this is a CKD, the pricing is on the expensive side, and though the hardware on offer is good, the engine output is rather underwhelming.
