The BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine is already a step above the standard model in length and creature comforts. But the carmaker has decided to offer a bit more for the extended sedan with the launch of the Iconic Edition at Rs 53.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). As the name suggests, this limited-run model is certainly ‘iconic’ with how it stands out over the standard model.

So what do you get for a premium of Rs 1 lakh over the standard 3 Series Gran Limousine? For starters, the trademark kidney grille is now illuminated, thanks to LED lighting integrated inside the grille that lets off a blue shade. It is offered in the Mineral White, Carbon Black and Cashmere Silver paint options.

Head inside, and you’re treated to a Cognac/Black upholstery with Vernasca leather upholstery for the rear seats. The most notable add-on is the ‘crystal gear-shift knob’ which adds to the sedan’s premium feel. Rear seat occupants will get more comforts thanks to cushions for the headrests, and a coat Hanger with a base carrier.

Other than this, the 3 Series Gran Limousine Iconic Edition gets all the bells and whistles from the standard model, including a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, ambient lighting, wireless charging as well as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity along with gesture control for the infotainment system, and a 360-degree camera.
It gets the option of the 258PS/400Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol, and 190PS/400Nm 2-litre diesel engine options. With both engines being paired to an 8-speed gearbox, the 0-100kmph sprint can be achieved in 6.2 seconds (petrol) and 7.6 seconds (diesel). There’s also Launch Control, and four driving modes: ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

The introduction of the BMW 3 Series Gran Limousine Iconic Edition furthers its foothold in its segment as it is the first long-wheelbase offering in India.
