Alto K10 Becomes Latest Recipient Of Maruti's S-CNG Technology highlights

Maruti has introduced the CNG option to the new Alto K10, priced at Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The hatchback’s second-from-top VXI variant is the only one to get the alternative fuel option, commanding a premium of Rs 95,000 over its corresponding petrol variant.

The Alto K10 CNG gets the Celerio’s 57PS and 82.1Nm, 1-litre petrol-CNG engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It, Maruti claims, offers fuel efficiency of 33.85km/kg, which makes it Maruti’s third-most efficient CNG car after the Celerio and Wagon R. Maruti has gone a step further with attention to detail by adjusting the suspension setup of the entry-level model to account for the added weight of the CNG kit.

There are no feature changes on the CNG option. The Alto K10 VXI trim features wheel covers, front power windows, internally adjustable ORVMs, AC, a basic Bluetooth system, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, central door-locking and speed-sensing auto door lock. The top variants get a seven-inch touchscreen system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and remote keyless entry, but no CNG kit.

The Maruti Alto K10 rivals the likes of Renault Kwid, which does not offer the option of CNG. It’s now the eleventh Maruti car you can buy with the cleaner fuel alternative.
