The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 has been recalled due to a faulty Steering Gear Box Assembly. A total of 2,555 units of the hatchback have possibly been affected and the carmaker will contact the affected car owners, inspect the part, and replace it free of cost if an issue is found. Out of precaution, affected car owners are advised to not use their vehicle till the part is replaced. In a rare case, this defect may affect the vehicle’s steerability.
The Maruti Alto K10 is equipped with features such as, a 7-inch infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry, power-adjustable ORVMs, manual AC, and 4 speakers.
Passenger safety is ensured by dual front airbags, seatbelt reminder for front and rear seats, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, it gets a 67PS/89Nm 1-litre petrol engine, which is paired with either a standard 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. The same engine is also available with the CNG kit, and in CNG mode, the output reduces to 57 PS and 82 Nm. The CNG variants are available only with a 5-speed manual transmission.
The Maruti Alto K10 is priced from Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with hatchbacks like the Renault Kwid, Maruti S-Presso and lower variants of the Maruti Suzuki Wagon R.
