While these misses do not take away from the Golf GTI’s appeal, their inclusion would have made the overall package better…

The Volkswagen Golf GTI has landed in India, bringing its signature hot hatch charm, along with sharp styling, and a peppy performance. You get a turbocharged punch, sporty detailing inside-out, and a tech-loaded cabin. That said, a closer look reveals a few missing elements that could have taken the Golf GTI’s Indian innings to another level. Take a look at them.

Ventilated Seats

When it comes to convenience, the Golf GTI offers features like three-zone climate control, but it misses out on ventilated seats. Given the rising temperatures across the country, ventilated seats have become more of a necessity than a luxury, something buyers in this segment will surely notice.

That aside, the Golf GTI still impresses with its sporty, driver-focused cabin that’s well-equipped overall. You can check out the full cabin details here.

Powered Seats

Along with ventilated seats, another feature that Golf GTI buyers are likely to miss is powered seats. While electrically adjustable seats may not drastically enhance the ownership experience, they do add a layer of convenience.

Additionally, buyers who are upgrading to this segment this omission might feel like a missed opportunity.

Branded Audio System

Currently, the Volkswagen Golf GTI is equipped with a seven-speaker sound system, which feels basic for this hot hatch.

However, a branded audio system would have elevated the in-cabin experience and added more value to the overall ownership.

360-degree Camera System

For a hot hatch priced at Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom), you would expect it to come equipped with a 360-degree camera system. However, the Golf GTI only gets a reverse parking camera along with parking sensors.

It sure does redeem itself with a Level 2 ADAS suite, offering advanced safety features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and rear traffic alert.

Powered Tailgate

Another convenience feature missing from the Golf GTI’s otherwise impressive spec sheet is a powered tailgate. Considering the GTI’s premium positioning, the omission does stand out, especially for buyers who are used to a bit more day-to-day practicality.

While manually opening and closing the boot isn’t a dealbreaker, a hands-free or powered tailgate would’ve added that extra touch of convenience for its buyers.

In The End…

With the Volkswagen Golf GTI priced at Rs 53 lakh (ex-showroom), there’s no denying it delivers plenty of excitement with its performance and sporty design. That said, at this premium price point, these few key features feel like notable omissions.

Which of these do you think the GTI truly deserved at this price? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
