We have spent some time with the new Golf GTI, but while we could go on and on about it all day, here are five things we just loved about this beast from Wolfsburg:

Launch mode on the Golf GTI is ferocious. Engage it, and boom, you are flung into your seat with such power, you will laugh nervously and then ask for seconds. It’s fast, yes.

But better still is how it does so, so fast, so accurately, so under control, so free of drama. Frighteningly good, nearly, but by no means dangerous, so (or is it?). It's the kind of fear that makes the adrenaline flow!

The GTI doesn't merely hug the road, it becomes one with it. The GTI reacts instantly, turn the wheel, and it tucks in like it’s reading your mind. The grip is phenomenal; it feels glued to the tarmac, and it dares you to push harder.
