The Scorpio N still has long waiting periods despite Mahindra ramping up production

Mahindra is known for its extended waiting periods, sometimes even exceeding a year. In response, Mahindra pledged to increase production capacity, which they followed through for the Scorpio N and XUV700. Despite this, waiting periods for these SUVs remain a concern for prospective customers. Let's examine the waiting times for the Mahindra Scorpio N in key cities:

On an average, customers will have to wait for around 6 months in most cities to take delivery of the Mahindra Scorpio N. 

Amongst all, Chandigarh gets the least waiting time of around 3 months, while Mumbai folks can get one in 5 months. Tier-2 cities like Ahmedabad and Indore, in comparison, have a waiting period of at least 4 months, while major metros like Chennai can keep you hanging for 8 months or even more, depending on the SUV's availability. 

As evident from the table provided, the waiting periods for the Mahindra Scorpio N remain exceptionally long. This is despite Mahindra's efforts to increase production for these models. The Mahindra Scorpio N offers a range of engine options to suit different preferences and driving needs. In the lower variants, it is equipped with a 2.2-litre diesel engine, delivering 132 PS and 300 Nm. Meanwhile, the higher trim levels boast a more powerful output of 175 PS and 370 Nm. For those preferring petrol, there's a 2-litre turbo-petrol engine option, generating 200 PS and 380 Nm. All engines come with a standard 6-speed manual transmission, while the more potent diesel and turbo-petrol mills offer an optional 6-speed automatic transmission. By default, the SUV offers rear-wheel-drive, but there's an optional 4WD system available with the 175 PS diesel engine. 

Additionally, Mahindra has introduced the Scorpio-N body-on-frame SUV with the new "Z8 Select" variant, also known as Z8 S. Starting from Rs 16.99 Lakh (ex-showroom), the Z8 Select range is offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The new variant debuts a striking Midnight Black colour option. 

The Mahindra Scorpio N is a body-on-frame alternative to the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Mahindra XUV700.
