It will make its global debut on November 6, 2024, India launch expected in early 2025
6 airbags to offered as standard, ventilated front seats will be available with higher-spec variants
It will be equipped with a sole 115 PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine

Skoda has disclosed details of the upcoming Kylaq sub-4 metre SUV which is all set to make its global debut on November 6, 2024. After the Slavia sedan and Kushaq compact SUV, the Kylaq will be the third vehicle to adopt the localised MQB-A0-IN platform. If you are in the market for a subcompact SUV, you might want to consider waiting for the Kylaq. Here is a look at all the details that have been revealed ahead of its launch:
The Skoda Kylaq will be the entry-level Skoda on our shores, positioned below the Kushaq in the SUV lineup. It will be the Czech carmaker’s first ever sub-4 metre SUV, and will be positioned in the popular and busy subcompact SUV space. It will feature modern and appealing design elements such as LED headlights and tail lights, a familiar Skoda butterfly grille and 17-inch alloy wheels. To check out its design details, head over to this story.

The Kylaq is expected to be feature-loaded with the necessary convenience and safety features. Confirmed features include 6 airbags as standard fitment, six-way adjustable power seats, and ventilated front seats. Other features that will most likely be available are a sunroof, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charger, reverse parking camera, and an 8-inch digital driver’s display.

Given that the MQB-A0-IN platform has proved its integrity with multiple body styles, we reckon the Kylaq too will get a full five star crash test safety rating from the Global or Bharat NCAP.
It has been confirmed that Skoda will offer the 1-litre turbo-petrol engine with the Kylaq subcompact SUV, which is the same unit offered in the Kushaq as well. The engine produces 115 PS and 178 Nm, and can be had with either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In terms of dimensions, the Kylaq measures 3995 mm in length and sits on a 2,566 mm wheelbase. It will boast an impressive ground clearance of 189 mm which is in fact 1 mm more than that of the larger Kushaq.
We expect the Skoda Kylaq to be launched anywhere in the price range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom), offered across multiple variants to choose from. It will compete with the likes of the Mahindra XUV 3XO, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, and the Kia Sonet.
