New Renault Duster Vs Hyundai Creta: Which SUV Looks More Stylish?...

The upcoming 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift will be reintroduced with a turbo-petrol engine option. While that’s good news for enthusiasts, the tears of joy may turn into sadness as it will be limited to the top-end SX (O) variant. Also, this engine in the Creta will be offered with just the dual-clutch automatic transmission, meaning you can expect an ex-showroom cost of nearly Rs 20 lakh.

This puts the Creta at a slight disadvantage, as the Kia Seltos, its sibling and immediate competitor, offers you more than one variant – including a lower-spec one – with the turbo-petrol engine. The Seltos also gets the 6-speed iMT alongside the automatic option, giving you more choice when it comes to transmissions.

The Creta gets the same 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine as the Kia Seltos and Hyundai Verna, that belts out 160PS and 253Nm. It drives the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the existing 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines will remain unchanged. You can take a look at the 2024 Creta’s variant-wise engine options and technical specifications here.

Hyundai has partially revealed the 2024 Creta facelift and you can take a closer look at it here. Prices are set to be announced on January 16 and we suspect it to command a premium over the pre-facelift model, which starts from Rs 10.87 lakh (ex-showroom). It will continue to lock horns with the Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor.
