  • Kia has introduced an electric sunroof with the Sonet’s 1.2-litre petrol engine.

  • The sunroof can now be had from the 1.2-litre HTK+ variants.

  • It was previously limited to the turbo-petrol and diesel variants.

  • The price of the 1.2-litre HTK+ variant has been hiked to Rs 9.76 lakh, a jump of Rs 12,000.

Kia has made getting a sunroof in the Sonet sub-4m SUV more accessible by nearly Rs 75,000. So there aren't any actual discounts that are being handed out, but rather the feature is now offered with the 1.2-litre HTK+ variant. The same was previously available only with the turbo-petrol and diesel HTX+ variants.

However, in doing so, the 1.2-litre HTK+ variant is now slightly more expensive, priced at Rs 9.76 lakh, instead of the previous Rs 9.64 lakh price tag. There are no changes apart from this specific addition, as the variant continues to feature its usual list of equipment, which comprises an 8-inch infotainment system, electric ORVMs, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear view camera with guidelines, auto AC, six-speaker sound system, keyless entry, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.

As for the powertrain options, the HTK+ variant can be had with all the three engines: 1.2-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and 1-litre turbo-petrol. While the petrol engine gets a 5-speed manual, the other two get a 6-speed iMT only. The automatic options include a 7-speed DCT for the 1-litre turbo petrol engine and a 6-speed automatic for the 1.5-litre diesel engine, both of which are available in higher-end trims.
