6 Features That Would Have Made The Kia Carens Clavis Even Better!

The Carens Clavis is loaded with features, but if you look from a greedy perspective, certain features would have added to the MPV’s appeal!

Features bring the feel-good factor to a car and also improve the overall comfort and safety of a vehicle. Customers have started prioritising features over other aspects, and carmakers have started to offer many new and exciting ones that make you want to stay in your car a bit longer.

The Kia Carens Clavis is one such MPV which is premium and well-equipped, but is not the perfect candidate for being tagged the most well-equipped vehicle in its price range. Without further ado, let’s take a look at all the features that the Clavis misses out on:

Dual-zone Climate Control

Dual-zone climate control is not offered with the Clavis, which gets single-zone climate control. Kia offers the feel-good feature with the Seltos compact SUV, and there were expectations of the brand offering it with the Clavis as well. This feature helps the driver and co-driver set the temperature based on their own preferences.

Wireless Android Auto And Apple CarPlay

The Clavis misses out on wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, which at the price point feels a big miss. So to access the feature you will have to depend on a wire everytime you step inside the car.

Powered Co-driver Seat With Boss Mode

The Clavis only gets a 4-way powered driver seat and misses out on the electrically adjustable co-driver seat. Being a chauffeur-oriented MPV, Kia could have also offered boss mode with the 6-seater version. Boss mode would have liberated more legroom and kneeroom for the second row passenger with a touch of a button. The Hyundai Alcazar, which falls in a similar price category, comes equipped with this feature.

Rear Ventilated Seats

It was a surprising and smart move by Kia to offer rear ventilated seats with the Syros, and we were expecting the premium feature to make its way to the larger Clavis as well. This would have added an extra layer of cooling for rear seat passengers. It would have also given the Clavis an edge over the Innova Crysta, which is the Clavis’ direct rival and misses out on this feature.

Two Wireless Phone Chargers

Front wireless phone chargers have become a common feature nowadays, and even the Clavis gets one. However, a wireless phone charger for the rear seats would have taken the convenience factor to a higher level. It would ensure that the second row passengers don’t have to rely on wires, and also would not disturb the passengers ahead of them.

Side Parking Sensors

Again, a feature that Kia introduced with the Syros, but it sadly didn’t make its way to the Clavis. Side parking sensors would have made parking the fairly long MPV a slightly easier task and warned the driver of any hidden obstacles.

Prices for the Carens Clavis will be revealed on May 23, and we expect it to retail from around Rs 11 lakh. While there are certain feature misses, the Clavis still packs a well-loaded cabin that takes care of all your needs and requirements. We think that boss mode and rear ventilated seats could have really accentuated the rear seat experience.

Out of all the features listed above, which one do you think should have been there and feels like a big miss? Let us know in the comments section.
