Say hello to the Jeep Meridian Track Edition. Priced at Rs 35.95 lakh (ex-showroom), this new edition of Jeep’s flagship seven-seat SUV brings with it a few cosmetic enhancements along with a practical update in the form of second-row sliding seats, making it more family-friendly while retaining its core, and capable, mechanical package.
The Track Edition is based on the top-end Overland trim of the Meridian and aims to offer a slightly more distinctive appearance. On the outside, it gets subtle styling that include piano black accents on the seven-slat grille, model badges, and a few exterior trim pieces. It also gets a bespoke ‘Track Edition’ hood decal and rides on 18-inch diamond cut alloys.

One of the key highlights of the Track Edition is the addition of sliding second-row seats. This feature enhances cabin flexibility, allowing occupants to adjust legroom by sliding the seats forward by 140 mm, aiding practicality. For families who frequently use all three rows, this update significantly improves comfort and accessibility.

Step inside and the first thing that’s noticeable is the dual-tone dashboard with suede inserts, contrast stitching and quilting on the leatherette seats. It has a ‘Cortina’ leather-wrapped steering wheel, ‘Dark Espresso’ accents with Piano Black bezels all over the cabin, and ‘Track Edition’ badges embossed on the floor mats.
The long list of features are carried over from the Overland variant include: a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats which are powered and also have a memory function, and even a high-end Alpine audio system.

Mechanically, the Track Edition remains unchanged. It is powered by the familiar 2-litre Multijet diesel engine that produces 170 PS and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is available with either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic transmission, and optional four-wheel-drive.
With the launch of the Track Edition, Jeep aims to attract buyers looking for a more versatile and slightly differentiated version of the Meridian without stepping into a significantly higher price bracket. The addition of sliding second-row seats may appear minor on paper, but it adds real-world usability for customers who prioritize space and flexibility.
