Jeep India has launched the 2024 Meridian SUV on our shores with a host of updates. These include the introduction of new entry-level Longitude and Longitude Plus variants with the option of a 5-seater version (Meridian was offered as a 7-seater till now). Apart from that, Jeep India has given it feature updates, which we’ll be talking about later in the article.
Jeep India is yet to share the full prices of the 2024 Meridian and as a result, we haven’t compared it with the outgoing model. Hence, here are the starting prices for each of the variants of the 2024 Jeep Meridian:
Variants |
Ex-showroom Price |
Longitude |
Rs 24.99 lakh |
Longitude Plus |
Rs 27.5 lakh |
Limited (O) |
Rs 30.49 lakh |
Overland |
Rs 36.49 lakh |
The old Jeep Meridian started at Rs 31.23 lakh (ex-showroom) and with the introduction of the new base variant, it has become a whopping Rs 6.24 lakh affordable than before.
Jeep has improved the accessibility of the Meridian by introducing two new entry-level Longitude and Longitude (O) variants. Along with that, Jeep India has also introduced the Meridian with a 5-seater option, giving buyers more choice. A more in-depth story of what the Jeep Meridian’s base version looks like will be covered on ZigWheels, so stay tuned.
Along with the introduction of the Meridian base model, the Overland variant is the new top-end variant of the Meridian and comes packing an important safety feature - ADAS. Its suite consists of features such as adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist and forward collision avoidance braking.
The Jeep Meridian comes packing a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car tech (with the option of starting and pre-cooling the car), a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats with ventilation, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system and a powered tailgate.
Passenger safety is taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and electronic parking brake with ADAS. Addition of ADAS now improves the safety quotient of the Jeep Meridian.
Nope. The Jeep Meridian is offered with the familiar 170 PS 2-litre diesel engine, teamed with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed torque converter automatic. While front-wheel drive is offered as standard, one can get optional all-wheel drive with the automatic transmission.
The Jeep Meridian locks horns with the Skoda Kodiaq as well as body-on-frame three-row SUVs such as the MG Gloster and Toyota Fortuner. The introduction of new lower-end variants and ADAS does improve the accessibility and desirability of the Jeep Meridian.
