As part of the collaboration, the animated Spiderman will feature alongside Hyundai’s Ioniq lineup
This new animated movie will be globally released in theaters in June.
Hyundai and Sony Pictures have joined hands for the third time, this time for the upcoming sequel in the animated Spiderman movie series, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse”. The new movie will show a flying version of Hyundai Prophecy Concept EV, which was the design predecessor of the Ioniq 6 electric sedan.

There will be other Hyundai concepts starring in the new movie across various projects including advanced air mobility (AAM), purpose-built vehicles (PBV) and Hub. That’s not all, the animated movie will also have a fictional self-driving robotaxi based on the Hyundai Pony. All these cars are showcased with the context of a future city in the “Spider-Verse", set in 2099, known as “Nueva York”.

It’s pretty common for film franchises to partner with specific car brands that will highlight their models or projects in specific scenes for the purpose of product placement. Hyundai and Sony Pictures have worked together on recent films and have opted to collaborate again for the “Spider-Verse” sequel. As part of the project, Hyundai will run a worldwide marketing campaign that will feature the animated Spiderman with Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6, in both online and offline media.

As stated above, these two have worked together fairly recently. In “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which was released in 2021, the movie starred the Ioniq 5 and Tucson SUV. The second collaboration was in 2022 for another film, “Uncharted”, starring Tom Holland, and the movie featured the Tucson Beast concept SUV.
The new Spiderman animated movie will be in theaters worldwide in June. If you go and watch the movie, let us know in the comments which Hyundai models you were able to spot.
