No mechanical changes have been made
The Hyundai Creta is already a top-seller in its segment and offers a value proposition to the buyers. The good news is that the Korean automaker has further increased the value-for-money quotient by offering even more features in the new lower-spec variants and some new features for the top-spec variants. There are no changes in the design of the SUV or in the powertrain department. Along with updating the variants, Titan Grey Matte and Starry Night hues have been made accessible across all variants.
Let’s take a closer look at the pricing and feature updates:
The EX (O) is based on the lower-spec EX variant of the Creta and brings in premium features such as a panoramic sunroof and LED rear lamps. The addition of these two features on a lower-spec variant makes these premium amenities more accessible. The sunroof is a highly desirable feature for most Indian buyers, and getting it at a lower price is something that will attract more customers.
The panoramic sunroof was earlier available from the S (O) variant. The EX (O) trim is available with both NA petrol and diesel engines with the option to choose from manual and automatic gearbox options. Here’s a look at the pricing of the EX (O) variant:
Variants |
Price |
EX (O) Petrol MT |
Rs 12.97 lakh |
EX (O) Petrol CVT |
Rs 14.37 lakh |
EX (O) Diesel MT |
Rs 14.56 lakh |
EX (O) Diesel AT |
Rs 15.96 lakh |
The new variant is around Rs 1.5 lakh more affordable than the S(O) trim, making the panoramic sunroof feature easier to get.
Moving on to the more premium new variant - SX Premium. The SX Premium variant is positioned below the top-spec SX (O) variant and gets some of the luxury features at a more affordable price. It comes with ventilated front seats, an 8-way powered driver seat, a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system, scooped seats and leather seats. These features were earlier restricted to the top-spec SX (O) trim.
Now, let’s take a look at the powertrain-wise pricing of the SX Premium:
Variants |
Price |
SX Premium Petrol MT |
Rs 16.18 lakh |
SX Premium Petrol CVT |
Rs 17.68 lakh |
SX Premium Diesel MT |
Rs 17.77 lakh |
The Creta SX Premium is around RS 1.3 lakh more affordable than the top-spec, fully-loaded SX (O) variant.
The top-spec SX (O) variant was already a well-equipped variant, which has now been made even more premium with new features. The new additions include a rain sensor, a wireless phone charger for the rear seats, scooped seats, and a smart key with a motion sensor. In fact, the smart key with a motion sensor has been made available from the S (O) variant onwards.

Overall, prices for the Creta range between Rs 11.10 lakh to Rs 20.19 lakh (ex-showroom). It competes with the likes of Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate.
With this move, more buyers would be able to enjoy the higher-end features at a much lower price.
