Quick Highlights
2025 Honda CBR650R to be launched in coming weeks
It will also have an e-clutch
Will come in via the CBU route

Rumours of the Honda CBR650R launch have started floating around. To verify, we spoke with a couple of Honda Big Wing dealerships in India, who have confirmed the sports tourer is coming back by end of February or early March 2025.
Here’s a look at what you can expect:
Bookings
Dealerships we spoke to are accepting unofficial bookings for the 2025 Honda CBR650R. The booking amount varies from Rs 5,000 to Rs 50,000, depending on the dealership.
Engine
The 2025 Honda CBR650R is likely to be available in two variants: CBR650R standard and CBR650R E-clutch. The CBR 650R will feature the same 649cc liquid cooled, Dohc Inline-4 engine producing 95PS at 12000rpm and 63Nm at 9500rpm mated to a six-speed transmission. The latter variant will have an automated clutch for added ease of riding.

Underpinnings
The bike has a wheelbase of 1450mm and an accessible seat height of 810mm. The bike weighs around 208kg, with the E-clutch variant weighing 3kg more at 211kg. The steel diamond frame should give it a perfect blend of rigidity and comfort. The CBR650R will get a Showa Separate Function Fork - Big Piston(SFF-BP) at the front while the rear gets a monoshock with 10-step preload adjustability.Breaking duties will be handled by 310mm dual front discs and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS.
Features
The CBR650R will be equipped with HSTC (Honda Selectable Torque Control) for stability and a slip-and-assist clutch. The bike will also get a new 5-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.
Price
The 2025 Honda CBR 650R is expected to be priced between Rs 9,00,000 - Rs 9,50,000 (ex-showroom).

The relaunch of the Honda CBR650R is no surprise. It is one of the most loved Honda bikes in India, and could be the cheapest inline-four engined Japanese bike if Honda can price it well. It will come in as a completely built unit, and in limited numbers, just like the last time. Also, the e-clutch variant should offer ease-of-use on an everyday basis for a casual rider, as well as making highway touring more comfortable.
