Citroen C3 Finally Gets New Features And An Optional Automatic Transmission

• Exterior updates include LED projector headlights and turn indicators on ORVMs.

• Inside, the C3 hatchback now gets auto AC and a 7-inch digital cluster.

• Safety-wise, it now comes with up to 6 airbags (as standard) and a rear view camera.

• Uses the same 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbo-petrol engine options as before.

• The turbo-petrol variant now also comes with an optional 6-speed AT.

The updated Citroen C3 hatchback was first showcased during the unveiling of the Citroen Basalt, which has now also been launched. The Citroen hatchback not only features exterior,interior and safety updates but now also offers an optional 6-speed automatic transmission with the turbo-petrol engine. 

Before we delve into further details, let’s review the revised prices for the 2024 Citroen C3:

All prices are ex-showroom

The top-spec Shine variants of the C3 hatchback are now expensive by Rs 30,000, whereas the Feel variant has received a price hike of Rs 20,000. It is also important to note that the Feel variant is no longer available with the turbo-petrol engine option. Also, Citroen is yet to announce the prices for the top-spec turbo-petrol automatic variant of the C3.

New Updates

Starting with the exterior, the 2024 Citroen C3 now comes with LED projector headlights and turn indicators on the ORVMs, which were previously positioned on the fender. Apart from these changes, the C3 looks exactly the same as before. You now get a more premium-looking key fob with the C3.

Inside, the C3 hatchback gets more comfort and convenience features like an automatic AC, a 7-inch fully digital driver’s display borrowed from the C3 Aircross, and electrically adjustable and auto foldable ORVMs. The hatchback already gets amenities like a 10.25-inch touchscreen (with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and steering mounted audio controls.

The improvement has also been done to the safety aspect and the C3 hatchback now features up to 6 airbags from the mid-spec Feel variant. Features like electronic stability control (ESC), ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, and rear parking sensors have been retained.

We still feel that the 6 airbags should have been offered as standard fitment here. Apart from that, we feel cruise control, rear seat headrests and push button start should have been present to make it a more rounded offering.

Powertrain Options

No changes have been made to the engine options of the Citroen C3, except for the fact that the turbo-petrol engine is now available with an automatic transmission. The detailed specifications are as follows:
