Among the updates to the 2026 Syros, is a refreshed styling package. Up front, there is a new sportier bumper with body-coloured inserts and a gloss black skid plate to give a sportier look. It houses a pair of new LED fog lamps as well.

The side profile has been enhanced with the addition of gloss black roof rails and ORVMs, a new design for the 17-inch crystal-cut alloy wheels, neon green brake callipers, and a body-coloured insert.

The rear-end, on the other hand, sees changes in the form of a new bumper with body-coloured inserts and an LED high-mounted stop lamp.

Besides this, the Syros retains its quirky styling with a boxy silhouette, thick cladding all around and vertical low-mounted headlamps, making it an unmistakable design. Kia has also introduced three new colour options with this update, called the Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte and Ivory Silver Gloss.
The interior of the 2026 Syros remains unchanged and continues to be one of the most spacious cabins in its class. It comes finished in a dual-tone grey and black colour scheme with leatherette upholstery and orange accents.

Another talking point here is also the sleek dashboard layout with a three-screen setup for the digital instrument cluster, touchscreen infotainment and another smaller screen in between for the climate controls.
The 2026 Syros' long list of features includes a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 5-inch climate control touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front and rear seats, 4-way powered driver seat, wireless charger, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, rear sunshades, air purifier, drive modes and an 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.

In terms of safety, the Syros is equipped with 6 airbags, electronic stability control, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear view camera, inbuilt dashcam and front and rear parking sensors. It has also scored 5-stars in the BNCAP crash tests. Notably, Kia has removed the Level 2 ADAS suite and 360-degree camera from the Syros as part of this 2026 update.
Under the hood, the Syros is powered by a choice of 1-litre turbo-petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options, both of which are offered with manual and automatic gearbox options. Here are the detailed specifications of these powertrains:
|

The Kia Syros rivals other subcompact SUVs such as the Maruti Brezza and Fronx, Hyundai Venue, Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor, Tata Nexon, Skoda Kylaq, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger and Nissan Magnite besides its own sibling, the Kia Sonet.
Not that the Syros needed it, but this update makes it feel a bit fresher and sportier, while making the SUV a lot more accessible as well. It still retains its personality of a spacious, well-loaded and family-friendly subcompact SUV in a quirky design that stands out from other crossovers on the road. But will this update improve Syros’ sales numbers? We will have to wait to find that out.
