MG has launched 4 new initiatives on our shores, in order to improve the experience of EV owners in India. These initiatives are a part of MG’s plans to create a strong EV based network in India. The initiatives are coming ahead of MG’s next big launch for the Indian market, which is the Windsor electric crossover. For now, let’s take a detailed look at what the new programs are and how it can benefit you:
The eHUB by MG is basically an app for EV charging and helps you with finding, reserving and even paying for a charging station for a more seamless experience. It will be available as an app on both Google Play Store and App Store. It provides access to almost the entire charging network of India, through multiple partnerships with EV charging providers. The eHUB aims to provide a seamless charging experience, and will be available in 11 languages and comes equipped with trip-planning features as well.
The Project REVIVE is an initiative which will repurpose used EV batteries in partnership with
The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Lohum. Basically, this project involves extracting out healthy battery components from a used battery pack, repurposing it and using it for schools and community centres. This initiative reduces waste and provides reliable power to underserved communities by extending the lifespan of EV batteries.
EVPEDIA is an initiative that provides EV related information and goes beyond just explaining electric vehicle technology. Not only that, you can also check out other aspects such as cost of EV ownership, calculating its costs, all the government policies and even check out publication and research papers. Users can explore the benefits of electric vehicles through interactive displays, educational videos, and live demonstrations.
MG-Jio ICP is a collaboration between MG and Jio for a better in-car experience. The main highlight here is the MG Store, which allows you to game, watch videos and other forms of entertainment as well as home to car functionality. This will be available across all the upcoming MG cars.
MG India has two EVs in its India portfolio: the entry-level Comet EV, priced from Rs 6.98 lakh to Rs 9.52 lakh (ex-showroom) and ZS EV priced from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.43 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG will soon be introducing the Windsor EV on our shores, expected to be priced around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). For more details on the Windsor EV, you can head over to this story.
