At its EV Day in Spain, Kia unveiled the Concept EV2 alongside the EV4, giving us a glimpse of its vision for a B-segment all-electric SUV. Designed for urban dwellers, the Concept EV2 looks like an interesting concept, offering a compact yet spacious package loaded with a lot features, in typical Kia fashion.
The Concept EV2 follows Kia’s modern EV design language, featuring a clean exterior. The SUV sports vertical daytime running lights (DRLs) and Kia’s “Star Map” signature lighting, giving it a typical front along with Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille.

Despite its compact footprint, it has a strong, upright stance with rugged bumpers, robust fenders, and a dynamic shoulder line. The geometric glass detailing and wheel arch design further add to the SUV stance.

The rear doors are C-pillar mounted, meaning they will be ‘suicide-doors’. Now, this could be one intersting bit to see, in case it makes way to the production-spec version.

Kia has added some clever bits to the interior of the Concept EV2 to maximize space and versatility. The cabin uses sustainable materials and features a flexible seating layout, including a folding second-row seat.

The absence of a central pillar and rear-hinged back doors create a wide entry, which could make ingress and egress effortless.

The flat floor, sliding front seats, and pop-up luggage dividers ensure practicality, while diagonal LED lighting and a unique dashboard animation elevate the ambience.

Despite being Kia’s smallest EV, the EV2 doesn’t skimp on technology. It boasts Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, and a message window feature that allows users to display text on the windows for pedestrians and road users. The most interesting bit? Removable triangular speakers can be placed anywhere in the car or even taken outside for an enhanced audio experience.

While all these features are showcased on a concept car, we hope some do actually make their way into the production-spec vehicle.
The Kia EV2 Concept surely looks interesting as a compact SUV and since it is based on the E-GMP platform, we expect it to offer comprehensive powertrain options with a great real-world usable range.

It will be launched in its production guise, sometime in 2026 and will first be launched in the European market, then eventually making its way to the US market by 2027.

Given India’s growing demand for compact EVs, it could be a strong contender for our market. While this is placed in the sub-4m segment, Kia has confirmed the launch of the Syros EV for India and we do not think that the EV2 might make way to India anytime soon.
