Bounce Infinity’s Bhiwadi plant in Rajasthan has begun producing the company’s first e-scooter, the E1. So, the company is on track to meeting its promises of delivering the E1 to its customers this month. The first customers will get their scooter on April 18, which we believe will likely be someone in Bengaluru, as that is where the company is based.
The challenge up ahead for Bounce would be to meet the bare minimum of battery swap stations in the cities it is going to be present in. In the first phase, Bounce claims it will set up close to 300 stations per city in the 10 cities where it will be operational. While the number sounds daunting, the swap stations are going to range from small 2x2 battery charging platforms to full fledged 4x4 or even larger charging walls.

We did have a spin on the pre-production ready version of the E1 a couple of weeks ago. Back then, there were some critical fitment issues that needed to be ironed out, which the company had claimed will be resolved by the time the scooter went into production. Hopefully then, we should be getting this final product soon, and giving you an update on how the final scooter is.
The E1’s 2.2kW peak power rating isn’t going to set the roads on fire. Its honest performance is sure to do the daily biddings nicely. Plus, the subscription model does sound attractive on paper. But if you read our analysis, it could very well be quite cost effective to buy the scooter with the battery in the first place itself.
