In its latest teaser of the new Sierra, Tata has now revealed the production-spec Sierra EV as well which gives us a glimpse into what we can expect from the all-electric compact SUV. So what do we know about it? Here is the teaser explained:
This time around, after a slew of short teasers, Tata has released one that gives us a very detailed look into the design of the new Sierra. Along with it, we also see the emergence of the production-spec Sierra EV which carries significant changes to the front-end styling too. Compared to the concept shown till now we can see that the production version would get gloss black cladding on the bumper and a faux silver skid plate as well.

However, you still get the connected DRL strip and a blanked-out grille to distinguish it from its fossil fuel-powered sibling. Otherwise, it still looks similar to the ICE-powered Sierra we have seen till now with a black roof insert in the side profile and a minimalistic rear end with a connected taillamp setup
In the sequence, we can also see that the car is off-roading on what seems to be white sand dunes, which could also be a hint at a dual-motor QWD setup, just like in its sibling, the Harrier EV.
Tata’s Sierra EV is all set for a launch shortly after the ICE version which is scheduled for a 25 November launch. While it may look and feel similar to the ICE-powered sibling, it will be based on a completely different EV-specific Gen 2 platform developed by Tata Motors and is likely to carry both single-motor and dual-motor setups. From the spyshots seen till now, it also likely to get a multi-link suspension. While we do not have other details yet, it could get a range of 450-500 Kms with the largest of the multiple battery packs that could be offered.

In terms of features, it could get dual-zone climate control, wireless chargers, powered and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual screen setup for the touchscreen infotainment and digital instrument cluster as well. Safety-wise it is likely to be equipped with a Level 2 ADAS suite besides 7 airbags, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake with auto-hold, 360 degree camera and hill hold assist.
With its retro-cool design and the rumoured dual-motor setup, the Sierra EV could just be the electric SUV to shake up the Rs 15-25 lakh (ex-showroom) segment. Stay tuned to ZigWheels as we bring you more details as and when they get revealed.
