Nearly 20 per cent of India’s luxury cars are sold in Mumbai and completely aware of the potential this market holds, Volvo inaugurated a new dealership in Mumbai today. Spread over an area of 2000 sqft. the new Volvo Dealership, KIFS Motors Pvt. Ltd is located opposite Laxmi Industrial Estate, Andheri (w).
With nearly 1200 cars sold in 2014 as opposed to 913 from the previous year, Volvo has recorded an overall growth of 31 per cent. And to work on its growth further, the Swedish car maker will now focus on expanding its dealership and service network.
Thomas Ernberg, MD Volvo Auto India said, “Buoyed by our increased acceptability among our valued customers in the last 2-3 years, we are now looking at further strengthening out foothold and expanding our reach in the Indian market. Mumbai is the business capital and it was imperative for us to have an ideal partner in the city.”
Currently the company sell five models in India including, the V40 Cross Country, the S60, the S80, the XC60 and the flagship XC90. Volvo also recently unveiled the XC90 in the global market which is scheduled to come to Indian shores by September 2015.
