Volkswagen has finally revealed the Polo ALLSTAR in the Indian market. Though the German automaker has added a few enticing bits from the Ameo, the hot hatch still remains the same as the standard one. Along with the other colour options, the car now comes in the Blue Silk colour which was launched with the Ameo. Let us find out what VW has to offer with the Polo ALLSTAR.
On the outside, the ALLSTAR edition gets a fresh new design for its alloy wheels, which are paired with the same tyre sizes as the standard Polo at 185/65 R15. Other than that, the car will get 'ALLSTAR' badging on its B-pillars and will also be available in Reflex Silver, Candy White, Flash Red and Toffy Brown shades. However, this new edition will not be getting the Copper Orange and Carbon Steel shades.
The car's inside has got a lot more changes than the outside. Just like the Ameo, the Polo ALLSTAR will be getting a front centre armrest with storage, rear-AC vents, aluminium paddles, new seat upholstery with vertical contrast stripes, and ALLSTAR-branded door sill plates.

Under the hood, the Polo ALLSTAR is available both in petrol and diesel engine options borrowed from the standard Polo. The petrol engine will be a 1.2-litre MPI affair, capable of producing 75PS of power and 110Nm of peak torque. On the other hand, the oil burner will be a 1.5-litre TDI which will churn out 90PS of power and an enormous 230Nm of torque. Both of these engines will come mated to a five-speed manual transmission.
With all of these changes made to the car, the Polo ALLSTAR appears to be a much better proposition than the standard Polo. But, since we are getting so many new features with the car, it is but obvious that the car will be a bit expensive than the top-end Polo TDi and MPi (around Rs 50,000 more). The petrol variant will be priced around Rs 7.5 lakh while the oil burner will be around Rs 9 lakh (both ex-showroom).
The Polo ALLSTAR will continue to go up against the likes of the Maruti Baleno, Honda Jazz and the Hyundai Elite i20.
