Despite shedding-off the mutual moniker in the nameplate, the Maruti Dzire subcompact sedan continues to follow the same design language and shares the same platform as its Swift hatchback sibling. However, the carmaker is now set to launch a new Dzire, with a revamped look and updated features, albeit borrowing the same engine from the 2024 Swift.
Key details and pricing of the Dzire will be revealed when the official unveiling takes place. Meanwhile, in this article, we’ll provide you a detailed look at what sets the Dzire apart from the Swift. Let’s begin!
So far, multiple spy shots have confirmed that the new Dzire will feature a segment-first fixed sunroof. Needless to say, a sunroof – being one of the most sought-after features among buyers will help the sub-4m sedan not only outshine the Swift but also gain a point over its rivals.

The new Dzire will continue to share a similar design language with the Swift, with a front fascia that could somewhat resemble its sibling. However, it’s expected to have subtle distinctions, including refined styling elements like a new grille with a lot of chrome accents, redesigned bumpers, updated LED headlights and taillights, and a fresh alloy wheel design.

The Dzire will follow the dashboard layout of the 2024 Swift hatchback and will also retain the latter's 9-inch infotainment display. The most prominent differentiation could be done with a black and beige cabin theme, different to the Swift’s all black treatment, and a 360-degree camera will add more safety to the Dzire’s suite.

Coming as a sedan model, the new Dzire will certainly boast a bigger boot space than the Swift hatchback. The Dzire is also set to get a CNG powertrain post launch and we’ll see if it adopts the twin cylinder layout, hence offering a bigger boot space.

The outgoing model of the Dzire used to feature a set of seven monotone shades and it is expected to add more, and certainly distinct hues in its palette that will differentiate it from the Swift.

Altogether, the new Dzire is poised to add more distinction to its nameplate this time around. Although the Swift and Dzire cater to different buyer preferences, the Dzire sedan now offers an ideal option for Swift fans seeking added space and a few features. Expected to be priced around Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom), it will compete with models like the Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze, and Hyundai Aura.
