If you're booking a cab next time, don't be surprised to see the new-generation Dzire come to pick you up, as Maruti Suzuki has launched the new Dzire Tour S for commercial fleet operators. This version is based on the base-spec Lxi variant of the standard Dzire. While it retains the basic features of the Lxi trim, the Dzire Tour S comes equipped with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Let’s see what’s more to it.
The third-gen Maruti Dzire Tour S has prices ranging from Rs 6.79 lakh to Rs 7.74 lakh depending on the variant you choose.

Dzire Tour S CNG |

The new-generation Maruti Dzire Tour S is available in three colour options -- Arctic White the shade we’re commonly used to seeing on commercial cabs and a Splendid Silver and Bluish Black. It features an exclusive ‘Tour S’ badging to distinguish it from the regular model.

The rest of the design stays similar to the regular base-spec model. Upfront, it gets the same black grille with horizontal slats and a black panel containing the ‘Suzuki’ logo that connects the halogen headlights. That said, the DRLs and fog lamps aren’t available in this version.

On the side, you can see black door handles and black ORVM with the turn indicator placed separately on the fender. It gets the same 14-inch steel wheels without any cover.

At the rear, you get the same LED taillights as the standard car. A black strip connects the two taillights and there’s a shark-fin antenna on the roof as well. The ‘Tour S’ black badging is placed on the bottom left side of the tailgate.
The interior stays the same as the regular Dzire. It has the same black and beige theme but misses out on the faux wooden insert on the dashboard. There’s no infotainment and commercial operators will have to rely on aftermarket fitment if needed. It gets the manual AC controls and the centre console just has two cupholders.

As for other features, it is equipped with all four power windows, a tilt-adjustable steering wheel and keyless entry.

For safety, 6 airbags are kept standard besides other features like ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC) and rear parking sensors.
The Maruti Dzire Tour S gets the same 1.2-litre Swift-sourced petrol engine that puts out 82 PS and 112 Nm. Opting for the CNG kit means the engine tunes down to a reduced output of 70 PS and 102 Nm. For transmission choice, you have a 5-speed manual gearbox for both. The petrol engine returns a fuel efficiency of 26.06 kmpl, while the CNG offers a mileage of 34.30 km/kg.

The Dzire has long been a popular choice among taxi operators in India. Maruti has ensured that its commercial buyers are not left behind by introducing the new Dzire Tour S. Whether this move will be seen as a let-go or an upset for private buyers remains to be seen, but one thing is certain–we can now expect better-looking cabs on our roads.
