Most of you probably remember the Vision IN concept, Skoda’s take on the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos, which was showcased at Auto Expo 2020. Now, we’ve got some good news for those of you who’ve been waiting eagerly for the Vision IN as the company’s director, Zac Hollis, has just revealed its launch timeline.
Hollis had tweeted that the Vision IN will be launched in Q2 2021. That means one can expect the SUV to reach showrooms between April and June 2021. The Vision IN will be Skoda’s first made-for-India product under its India 2.0 strategy. It’ll be underpinned by a heavily localised version of the MQB-A0 platform, dubbed the MQB-A0-IN.
This SUV will be a petrol-only offering and will come with two turbo-petrol engine options: a 1.0-litre TSI unit and a 1.5-litre TSI motor. The smaller engine, which will be similar to the Rapid TSI, could develop 110PS and 175Nm while the larger motor could put out 150PS and 250Nm. Both engines are likely to be offered with an automatic transmission while the manual gearbox might be limited to the smaller unit.

The Vision IN concept looks butch and we hope most of the design elements make it to the production version. Even the interior is similar to the international-spec Skoda cars with a minimalistic design. You can take a closer look at the Vision IN right here.
Skoda is yet to reveal the name of its upcoming SUV. It is expected to come at an aggressive starting price of Rs 10 lakh, putting it in the ballpark of Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos as well as the upcoming Volkswagen Taigun.
