Good news for the Hyundai Creta fans! Hyundai India has just rejigged the Creta’s variant lineup and added two new variants to the existing lineup, namely EX(O) and SX Premium. While these new variants have made many premium features more affordable, which were otherwise exclusive to the higher-spec variants, the top-spec SX(O) variant has also received new features, making the Creta more loaded than before.
So, does it make sense to spend that premium for the top-spec, or is the new one-below-top SX Premium, which inherits many previously top-end features, more worth the money now? Let’s check that out with more reasons!
The Hyundai Creta SX(O) has its prices increased up to Rs 8,000, the variant-wise breakup of which you can check in this report. Here’s what the difference looks like with the one-below-top SX Premium.

Rs 17.46 lakh to Rs 20.19 lakh |
The SX Premium sits at about Rs 1.3 lakh more affordable than the top-spec Hyundai Creta SX(O).
The Hyundai Creta SX Premium now gets scooped seats and leather seats with ventilation for the front row, an 8-way powered driver seat and a premium 8-speaker Bose sound system. These features were available only with the top-spec previously and hence are now more affordable with this update.
However for the extra lakh you spend on the SX(O), you now get a rain sensor, a wireless phone charger for the rear seats, scooped seats and a smart key with a motion sensor. Not quite the deal-breaking stuff!
The Hyundai Creta does not have its mechanicals unchanged. It comes equipped with familiar powertrain options. There’s a turbo petrol engine exclusive to the top-end SX(O) model.

Hyundai Creta faces competition from the likes of Tata Curvv, Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor and Citroen Basalt and Aircross.
Well, before we tell you which variant would be more worth the money between these two, you first need to sort out what you need the Creta for. Need it as your sober family drive? Then you might as well settle for the SX Premium variant, as it brings you all that you would need. You get both petrol and diesel engine options, and from the top-end variant, you get niceties that you could do away with.
However, if you want to throttle up your Creta with more enthusiasm on the pedal, the turbo-petrol variant is where you’d want to put your extra cash.
