Earlier this year in May, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, President and CEO, Shinji Aoyama, announced that the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese giant will be launching a new 200cc plus product in the Indian motorcycle bazaar before the end of 2010. Our inside sources confirm that Honda will be launching a new motorcycle by the end of this month. What you see here is the scoop picture of the upcoming 2011 CBR250R that is scheduled to make its global debut very soon.
Although the Honda officials have not divulged any details yet, there is a good chance that the new CBR250R could well be on its way to India. Also in the offering is an all-new CBR150R identical to its elder sibling with a 124.7cc motor packing 13.6PS of power. The design language on both these Hondas is very much in line with the recently introduced Honda VFR1200F and atleast in pictures both the bikes look absolutely gorgeous! The Honda CBR250R will be powered by a single cylinder 249cc engine that will produce 33PS of power and the bike is supposed to weigh just 140kg! The riding posture too looks street-friendly with raised two-piece handlebars, sizeable saddle and moderately rearset footpegs.
Other technical details about the CBR250R are still under wraps but the price is expected to be in the same region as the Kawasaki. The Honda CBR250R will directly go head-to-head against the Ninja 250R and it looks like the perennial reign of the Ninja is under threat from its compatriot. But will it be a worthy competitor to the Kwacker? That only time shall tell. For now we have our fingers crossed and riding gear readied. Watch this space for more details about the new Honda.
