Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd., which has the portfolio of Nissan and Datsun vehicles, has announced an increase in cost of vehicles throughout their current range by 3 per cent. The price hike will be effective from the start of the new year in January. The rise in prices has been caused due to the impact of escalating input costs.
Commenting on the hike, Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India Pvt Ltd said, “The price increase is to offset the rising input costs. The revision of prices will soften the negative impact and help the company stay competitive.”
Nissan’s current offering in the Indian market comprises of Micra (Active), Terrano, Sunny and the Evalia, while Datsun’s range of vehicles consist of the Go and the Go Plus.
Apart from Nissan, other car manufacturers like Hyundai, Toyota, Maruti Suzuki, Mercedes-Benz and BMW have also announced a hike in prices of their vehicles across most models from January.
