The new and long awaited, facelifted 2014 Fiat Linea has finally been launched in India. The new Fiat Linea includes a redesigned exterior, including a new grille and bumper package, new wheels and a slightly redesigned boot lid. The new Linea is available at Rs 6.99-9.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
The new 2014 Fiat Linea also includes a completely redesigned interior package. A soft touch dashboard with completely redesigned AC vents and the new centre console are the centre of attraction on the new interior. The new dashboard now sports two distinctive bulges, one housing the new instrument cluster and the rip computer while the second houses a small flip-up storage compartment and the AC vents.
The new 2014 Fiat Linea will share most of its mechanical underpinnings with the outgoing model. This means that the 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged petrol ‘T-Jet’ engine and the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel, ‘Multijet’ engine will power the new Linea. The T-Jet petrol engine makes 114PS of peak power and 207Nm of peak torque whereas the Multijet diesel engine will produce 93PS of peak power and 209Nm of torque. The older 1.4-litre, 4-cylinder, naturally aspirated, petrol engine that makes 90PS of power and 115 Nm of peak torque will power the cheapest variant.

Speaking on the occasion, Nagesh Basavanhalli, President and MD, Fiat Chrysler India Operations said, “With the launch of the new Linea, we are optimistic about our growth in the Indian market and are strengthening out commitment to our existing as well as prospective customers. Fiat India will also be launching more models this year with a 100 plus dealer network and upcoming marketing initiatives, we will be in a strong position to capitalise on the competitive market.”
The new 2014 Fiat Linea comes loaded with a host of features like rain sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, cruise control, climate control, multi-function steering wheel and rear parking sensors. The Fiat Linea is also the longest car in its class, measuring in it 4569mm and has the highest ground clearance at 185mm. The new Fiat Linea will be available immediately at Fiat India’s 108 new showrooms across the country.
