Over 15,000 Lamborghini Urus SUVs Have Been Made So Far

This makes it the highest produced Lamborghini model with such a short lifespan

The Lamborghini Urus super SUV has achieved a mega milestone by becoming the most produced Lamborghini model, with over 15,000 units coming out from Santa Bolognese. What’s more impressive about this achievement is that it took only a little more than three years to make it Lamborghini’s highest produced model in history.

Revealed in December 2017, the Urus marked a clear expansion of Lamborghini’s portfolio as it was the carmaker’s second attempt at an SUV in a lineup filled with super quick cars.  Just because it is an SUV, doesn’t make it any less of a raging bull. It’s powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that pushes out 650PS and 850Nm. It's one of the fastest SUVs in existence despite weighing around 2.2 tonnes, with a 0-100kmph sprint in 3.6 seconds, 0-200kmph in 12.8 seconds, and a top speed of 305kmph.

It's also the fastest car on ice, setting a 1,000m record at an average speed of 114kmph from standstill in March 2021. In the record run, the Urus reached an astonishing maximum speed of 298kmph despite the ice in Lake Baikal, the world’s deepest lake, significantly warming up. In fact, in the practice runs, it achieved 302kmph.

The Lamborghini Urus has also been doing well in India, crossing the 100 sales mark in the country which is pretty impressive for an SUV priced from Rs 3.15 crore (ex-showroom). It rivals the Audi RS Q8, Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne Turbo, and BMW X5M
